Hi, my name is Brianna Wilson and I am one of the new school counselors at Hayfield Elementary. I received my undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Virginia (wahoowa) and am entering my 1st year as a school counselor. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, watching movies (I have a Regal Pass), and exploring cute and fun places around the DMV. I am very excited to be a part of the Hayfield Hawks Nest!
Fun Fact: I have an identical twin sister who is a 1st grade teacher at an elementary school in Alexandria City Public Schools

Hello everyone! My name is Joe Pazanowski and I’m the new music teacher at Hayfield ES. Before I came here, I taught band and percussion in Loudoun County for the last 6 years, as well as taught private lessons and extracurricular activities for children of all ages. I still perform regularly as a percussionist as well in orchestras, brass bands, and percussion ensembles. When I’m not in my classroom, you can find me out in nature, hiking, at the archery range, or spending time with my friends and family. I’m super excited to bring my love of music to the Hayfield community!

My name is Zoë Jorgenson and I am the new strings teacher. I have been teaching for 6 years and love being a music educator. I am a bassist by trade and perform all over the DMV in various jazz and classical groups. I have a masters in jazz studies from George Mason and I grew up in Las Vegas. I am excited to be here at Hayfield! |
My name is Rubia Rodriguez, the new Family Liaison at Hayfield Elementary School. I have worked for FCPS as a Family Liaison for more than four years. I am bilingual English/Spanish. I am so passionate, working with families, children, and community organizations for several years.
I will help you with:
- Answer questions you have about school
- Provide information to you about school programs and
community resources and services.
- Assist you with Parent VUE, Talking Points, and much more.

FCPS will continue with limited early release Wednesdays for elementary schools during the 2026-27 school year, however the number has been reduced from eight to four days. Dismissal time will be at 12:20 p.m.

Please look for an email from Mr. O’Connor regarding your child’s status for Early Release Wednesdays. Some families still need to provide information about after-school plans or transportation, and the email will explain how to submit that information.

Restaurant Night: September 17th and 18th at California Fish Grill, Manchester Lakes from 11:00 am - 8:00pm both nights
Spiritwear: We are currently accepting preorders for some spiritwear items. The preorder deadline is September 11. Orders should only take a couple of weeks and will be delivered to students at the end of the day to take home. Please use this link for preorders.

Safety Drills During the School Year
Keeping students and staff safe is a priority for FCPS. Each school has an emergency preparedness plan to respond to incidents such as fires and tornadoes. Schools are required by state law to practice emergency drills, including lockdown drills, each year. Schools are also required to notify parents and guardians at least 24 hours before a school conducts a lockdown drill. However, schools are not required to give the specific date and time of the drill in advance.
The first lockdown drill of the school year must take place within the first 20 days of school. Preschool and kindergarten students are exempt from practicing the first lockdown drill.
Your child may come home and talk about their experience during the drill. We encourage you to talk with your child about the importance of being prepared for emergencies. Please review these frequently asked questions to support your students before and after school lockdown drills.

FCPS uses specific terminology to describe the actions school staff and students should take to ensure safety in a variety of situations. It is important for staff, families, and students to understand what the different terms mean and how they impact school operations.

If students, staff, or families have a safety concern at school (that is not an immediate emergency), they should submit a tip to the FCPS Safety Tipline. In an emergency, please call 9-1-1.
