Jurors on Friday found Grammy-winning rapper Lil Durk not guilty on all charges in a murder-for-hire trial in connection with a deadly shooting near a Los Angeles shopping center.

The federal grand jury began deliberations Wednesday and reached a verdict on Friday afternoon, according to the Department of Justice. An energetic crowd of fans and content creators gathered outside the downtown Los Angeles courthouse after news of a verdict was in.

Lil Durk, whose real name is Durk Banks, and two others were charged with stalking and killing a man in an ambush near the Beverly Center four years ago. Banks was accused of setting in motion a plan to kill Tyquian Bowman, a rival Atlanta rapper known as Quando Rondo.

In Nashville, Tennessee, the Republican-dominated state government and Democrat-controlled city government are engaged in an ugly battle for control of the city’s airport.

But there’s one thing the two sides can agree on: Nashville International Airport should be renamed to honor Tennessee’s favorite daughter, Dolly Parton. The change would make Parton the first woman whose name adorns one of America’s 50 busiest airports.

Lydia Popovich, a Parton superfan who started a petition for the name change in 2025, said on Friday that Parton had gracefully batted down the idea of naming the airport after her, as she did with many other proposed honors during her lifetime. That includes a bill brought by Tennessee lawmakers in 2021 to place a statue of her on the Capitol grounds.

Two weeks after her death, Dolly Parton’s fans are getting to hear the icon’s first song released posthumously.

The country music legend and actor died following “a brief battle with cancer” her estate announced Aug. 25. She was 80. As the news was reported, tributes poured in from her peers and fans. They reflected on Parton’s impact in the industry, from hits like “9 to 5” to “I Will Always Love You” and “Jolene.”

Now, they’ll have the opportunity to listen to a new song from her once more, as Parton is featured on an upcoming all-star tribute album titled “Where the Soul Never Dies: Celebrating 80 Years of The Stanley Brothers.”
