On June 1, 2026, Sultan Haitham bin Tarik issued Royal Decree No. 61/2026, promulgating a new Cybercrime Law for the Sultanate of Oman. The decree was published in Official Gazette No. 1651 on June 7, 2026, and entered into force the following day. It repeals the Cybercrime Law issued under Royal Decree No. 12/2011.
