Flint Hill Updates

Good Afternoon Flint Hill Families,

Next week is going to be an exciting week of hands-on learning and experiences for students! Space Week was kicked-off today by a visit from Emily Calandrelli, The Space Gal, who spoke to students about space, flight, science and learning through exploration. Next week, students will hear from special guest speakers, create classroom rockets and launch their rockets on Thursday, October 8th on the playground.

Picture day is coming to FHES soon! Fall individual portraits will be take in Monday, October 5th. See more information below.

On Tuesday, October 6th, students will gather with Sra. Diaz for a FLES assembly to recognize Spanish Heritage month. In addition to learning language skills through their weekly Spanish classes, they will get a chance to meet Mexican artist Marisela Rumberg during the assembly and hear about how language, art and expression can connect us all.

Are you ready to roll? Wednesday, October 7th will be Bike, Walk and Roll to School Day! See the message and information below about how you can participate.

Families are invited to attend our Fall AAP Information Meeting, led by Stephanie Altounian, our Advanced Academic Resource Teacher (AART) on Thursday, October 8th from 2:30-3:30 PM in the school library. It will cover the AAP continuum of services as well as the referral and identification processes for Full-Time AAP services.

Walk, Bike, and Roll to School Day

Bike Walk Roll

National Walk, Bike, and Roll to School Day is on Wednesday October 7th!

Students are encouraged to be active by walking, biking, or rolling (scooter, skateboard, rollerblades, etc.) to school.

For those that live further away, bus riders using mass transit and carpooling for kiss & ride are also great ways to participate and support our Get2Green Initiative.

Students will earn a small reward for participating in this event.
