Robert Whitmer

Robert Whitmer

1934-2026 Robert (Bob) Whitmer, formerly of South Elgin, passed away surrounded by his children on September 13, 2026. He was the son of Charles and Lorretta Whitmer; and the loving husband of 68 years to Ginny (Lindoerfer), all of whom preceded him in death. He is survived by his children, Juli (Brian Wallace), Lisa (Andy Bouque), Laurie (Kevin Schweitzer) and Chuck (Anna Whitmer), along with seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Bob was a beloved teacher at Ellis Middle School in Elgin for over 30 years, and enjoyed camping, canoeing in the Boundary Waters wilderness, working in his yard and on various projects, and most of all, being with family. A Memorial will be held in his honor on October 17th, from 12-3 at The Grumpy Goat restaurant in Elgin. Kenneth J. Barch was born in Chicago on May 27, 1965, to Patricia A. (Tierney) Barch and John F. Barch who is deceased. He became a devoted son to them both and died September 8, 2026 at the age of 61

Helene Margaret McNamara

Helene "Lynn" Margaret (McInerney) McNamara, 84, passed away on September 24, 2026, at St. Mark's Living, in Austin, MN. Lynn, who was best known as Mom, Nonnie, Aunt Lynn, and Mrs. McNamara, was a devoted and beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, teacher, and friend. She was born on October 27, 1941, to Joseph and Helene McInerney in Oak Park. In 1959, she graduated from Trinity High School in River Forest. In 1963, she earned her Bachelor of Education from the Chicago Teachers College and taught at Henson Elementary School on Chicago's West Side. She married Timothy Ian McNamara, on December 26, 1964, at St. Giles Catholic Church, in Oak Park. Happily married for 59 years, they raised three children, Tim, Marie, and Amy in Elk Grove Village. She returned to teaching in 1982 in School District 59, where she taught at Friendship and Grove junior high schools. In 2004, Tim and Lynn moved to Austin, MN, to be close to their daughters, and enjoyed some of their best years as grandparents of seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Tim and her sister Mary Cossitt. She is survived by son Tim (Barb) McNamara Jr.; daughter Marie (Dan) Wood; daughter Amy (Paul) Sheehan; grandchildren Katie and Timmy McNamara; Anne, Margo and Danny Wood; Patrick Sheehan and Molly (Evan) Rieber; brother Joe (Ruth) McInerney; brother John (Nancy) McInerney; and nieces, nephews, and friends. Memorial services are in Austin, MN. Arrangements by Clasen-Jordan Mortuary in Austin, MN.

Sharon R. Maske

Sharon Rose Maske (Maitland), a longtime resident of Wheaton, passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2026. She was born on November 22, 1943, in Joliet, Illinois. Sharon attended Joliet Township High School and continued her education at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, where she received her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. She later earned her master's degree from National Louis University. She was a longtime third-grade teacher in Joliet, Valparaiso, Indiana, and Wheaton, retiring in 2005. In retirement, Sharon served as a literacy tutor at the People's Resource Center in Wheaton. Throughout her career, her passion was helping students enjoy their school experience while making their learning meaningful. Sharon is survived by her two children, Michelle (Bob) Maybury of Tennessee and Erick (Betsy) Maske of Wheaton; four grandchildren, Brayton James and Jackson Scott Maske, and Mason Suzanne and Maddie Skye Maybury; and her brother, Morris Maitland. She was preceded in death by her father, Morris A. Maitland; her mother, Rosella Mattei Maitland; and her sister, Virginia Jager of Florida. A visitation and memorial service will be held at Williams-Kampp Funeral Home, 430 E. Roosevelt Road, Wheaton, IL 60187 on December 27th, 2026. The visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. and the memorial service will begin at 2:30 p.m. A private burial will be held at Elmhurst Cemetery in Joliet, Illinois. Robert Leonard Murphy

Robert Leonard Murphy of Huntley, Illinois, passed peacefully on September 24th, 2026, at the age of 88, surrounded by his family. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, October 2, 2026, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 10307 Dundee-Huntley Road, Huntley, IL 60142. There will be a visitation at the church, from 9:00 am until the time of Mass. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Gilberts.
