Forestville Cardinals, you are on fire this fall! We’re kicking off October with a burst of community spirit — 89 families and 12 teachers have already joined the PTA. We’re just 23 memberships away from beating last year’s record, and yes… we absolutely want that victory lap. Every membership fuels the magic behind the programs our kids adore. Join the fun with the Cardinal Fund.
Creativity alert — the PTA Reflections Program is officially open! This year’s theme, “What My Culture Means to Me,” invites students to express themselves through art, writing, photography, music, and more. Submissions are due November 15, and winners will soar on to the County level. Explore the Reflections Program.
And get those bookmarks ready… our first-ever Read‑A‑Thon is coming! We can’t wait to watch our Cardinals dive into stories, stack up reading minutes, and enjoy a fundraiser that’s equal parts fun and rewarding. Learn about the Read‑A‑Thon.
Thanks for bringing the energy, the heart, and the Cardinal pride. Let’s keep the momentum flying high!
Become a member today! Your support fuels everything we do—and 100% of your donation goes directly to strengthening our Forestville community.
PTA fundraising powers the programs and experiences that help our Cardinals thrive, including:
-
Classroom enrichment — instructional materials, hands‑on learning, and teacher‑led initiatives
-
Field trips & educational activities — expanding learning beyond the classroom
-
School events & community celebrations — building connection and joy
-
Staff appreciation — recognizing the incredible educators who make Forestville shine
-
Capital investment projects — improving our school environment for all students
To help fund these efforts, we encourage families, caregivers, and community members to consider joining at the Cardinal Circle level ($150). Every gift—at any level—makes a meaningful difference and is deeply appreciated.

As part of the Fairfax County School Board’s Annual School-Based Traffic and Pedestrian Safety Assessment, the FCPS Office of Safety and Security and Safe Routes to School program are inviting parents and caregivers to share their experiences traveling to and from school. The Traffic and Pedestrian Safety Survey asks about walking and biking routes, traffic near schools, kiss and ride experiences, accessibility, and other safety concerns.

Read-A-Thons actually get your reader excited about reading and it gives friends and family the opportunity to encourage your child to read even more. The funds raised will go towards updating our pod spaces to enhance student engagement and learning.
Our Read-A-Thon starts Monday October 26, 2026.
About one week before our Read-A-Thon starts, we will send home instructions on how to activate your reader's personal page. This is where you will be able to view and record their progress.
We encourage you to activate your reader’s account today by clicking on https://www.read-a-thon.com/readers/r/ZdpCSX/1?utm=email and following the simple instructions.
We've chosen Read-A-Thon because it will not take much of your time, gives your child a reason to read, and helps in the development of stronger reading skills.
We hope EVERYONE participates.
