Patricia Gail Gamin was born to the late Alan MacIlroy and Dorothy MacMillan in Asbury Park, NJ on November 16, 1937, a child of the great depression she learned how to be tough in rough times. She graduated from Asbury Park High School in 1956 and then studied at Monmouth College. She married Donald A. Dasburg and they lived in Philadelphia, PA in the married housing section of SAE Fraternity House of University of Pennsylvania. Patti worked as a switchboard operator for the phone company and raised her first child Darren (1959) now husband to Frankie Dasburg and resident of Cary and Oak Island, NC while Don attended the Wharton School for business. A sales role after Wharton took them to Detroit, MI where they had their second child Andrew (1962) now husband to Dawn Dasburg and living in Wake Forest, NC. Shortly thereafter
their number three child Dana (1963) now wife to Michael Persons and living in Navarre, FL upon moving to Glen Ellyn IL.
The formative years for her children allowed her to get involved with the community where she performed in plays such as Alfie with the Glen Ellyn Jaycee's, formed many friends playing bridge, and opened her own dress store called Top of the Hill.
In 1970 she started a new life with Fred Gambino (later renamed Gamin) and had her fourth child Alexis (1972) now wife to Warren Street residing in Atlanta. She was a master of real estate speculation and upscaled homes while capitalizing on the Chicago area real estate growth. By 1978 the Chicago winters convinced her to move to Apex, North Carolina, a move that would forever imprint the South on all her family. Those four children would begin their professional lives in the South and have ten total grandchildren to all her direct descendants who she is survived by. In order of birth Nicholas C. Dasburg (1996), Preston T. Persons (1996), Evan Dasburg (1999), Parker Persons (2000), Andrew Dasburg (2002), Callan Persons (2002), Isabella Dasburg (2003), Colin Street (2007), Penman Street (2011) and Beck Street (2012).
In Patti's later years she worked for NC State Cultural resources and spent hours tracing her family's roots back to Ireland and Scotland and produced an amazing family tree as a legacy to the whole family. She enjoyed sewing and puzzles to keep her brain thriving but loved game night with the Women of Weatherhill (WOW).
In memory of Patti a celebration of life will be held at her home at a date to be announced.
