Weekly Update

Field Hockey
It was a huge week for the Stallions. On Monday's Senior Night, they battled West Springfield to a 0-0 tie through regulation before senior Cailin Wendorf scored four and a half minutes into overtime to secure the win. On Thursday, the team traveled to Fairfax and earned another big victory, defeating the perennial field hockey powerhouse 1-0. The Stallions close out the regular season Monday against West Potomac.

Football
The Stallions traveled to Robinson on Friday night, got off to a strong start, and controlled the game from beginning to end. They came away with a 48-14 win to stay undefeated in district play.  Next Friday is Homecoming vs Woodson.

Golf
Kamryn Garg competed in Monday’s Occoquan Region Match at Twin Lakes. His score of 75 earned him fifth place in the region and a trip to the state tournament on Tuesday, October 13 at Bristow Manor. Congratulations Kamryn!

Girls Volleyball
The Stallions continue to put together one of their best seasons in years. They opened the week Tuesday with a 3-1 home win over Alexandria City, then got some revenge for an earlier-season loss by defeating the Robinson Rams 3-1 in the annual Dig Pink game on Thursday.

Boys Volleyball
The Stallions had a challenging week on the road, falling to both Alexandria City and Robinson.

September Athletes of the Month

Athletes of the Month

Amy Orellana - Amy arrives at every practice prepared and gives her full effort, performing with focus and energy whether she is front and center or in the back corner. Her natural talent and strong work ethic make the team better, and she helps her teammates learn choreography, work hard, and feel confident and supported. She leads by example with kindness, positivity, and a commitment to everyone’s growth, making her an inspiring teammate and a pleasure to coach. Amy is truly deserving of Athlete of the Month.

Alex Wolfson - Alex has continued to stepped up in his role as captain supporting the freshmen and new players, keeping the team energy high and helping the team to a successful season.  He leads the team in kills per set (3.2) and total kills (164) and is second on the team in serving aces (12) and receptions (243).

Senior Night Season Begins

Senior Nights

As we enter the second half of the fall season, we begin to recognize our senior Stallion athletes!  At last Friday's football game our senior cross country runners were celebrated and then at the beginning of this week we had our field hockey senior night!  Thank you to all of our seniors!

Band and Chorus Rock!

performing arts

Concert season is upon us!  This week our band and chorus students showed off and showed out at the first concerts of the season.  On Tuesday the band shared a number of Halloween treats with the audience, including excerpts from a number of ghostly classics including Jaws and Phantom of the Opera.  Thursday was chorus' time to shine in their annual Broadway Desserts show, highlighting songs from classics and new shows.  Under the direction of Kevin Engdahl (Band) and Xavier Howard (Chorus) our kids are continuing to shine!
