 Centreville Students, Families, and Community,
What an incredible Homecoming Week at Centreville High School! The energy, school spirit, and sense of connectedness throughout the week were truly something special. From our spirit days and Power Puff game to our pep rally, parade, tailgate, football game, and Homecoming Dance, it was wonderful to see the Wildcat Nation come together to celebrate our school and one another. The pride and enthusiasm of this community are unlike anything else, and I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of our students, families, staff, and community organizations who helped make this week such a success. These are the moments that create lasting memories and remind us what makes Centreville such a special place.
I also want to take a moment to share an important update regarding Centreville High School's performance under Virginia's School Performance and Support Framework (SPSF). Based on data from the 2025–2026 school year, Centreville has received an overall designation of "Meets Expectations." While our overall framework score of 92.2 places us in the state's "Distinguished" performance category, our designation was adjusted due to our identification for Targeted Support and Improvement (TSI) for specific student groups. I will be sharing more detailed information with all families early this week, including what these designations mean and how we will continue to address areas for growth. Most importantly, this work directly aligns with the priorities we have established as a school community: ensuring high-quality instruction for every student, fostering a positive school climate, and continuously working to get better, together. While these measures provide valuable information to guide our improvement, they do not capture the full range of accomplishments, experiences, and growth of our students.
As we move forward, I remain incredibly proud of our students, staff, and the community we continue to build together. Our commitment is to ensure Centreville High School is a place where every student has access to rigorous, high-quality learning experiences, where every student feels a genuine sense of connection and belonging, and where we continually challenge ourselves to grow and improve. Achieving these goals requires all of us working together, and I am confident that the same spirit of unity and support we witnessed throughout Homecoming Week will continue to drive our success.
Thank you for your continued trust, partnership, and commitment to making Centreville High School the very best it can be. There is so much to celebrate about the Wildcat Nation, and even more to look forward to as we continue this journey together.
Go Wildcats!

Exploring Futures - CVHS College Fair: Our juniors and seniors recently had an incredible opportunity to explore their future possibilities at the Centreville High School College Fair! We were thrilled to host 70 college and military representatives from across the country, welcoming 365 engaged Wildcats throughout the event. Representatives consistently shared how impressed they were by our students, who asked thoughtful, higher-level questions regarding majors, financial aid, scholarships, and campus culture. A huge thank you to all of our visiting representatives, as well as our hard-working Student Services department for their outstanding leadership in organizing such an impactful event for our students!

Cam is a vital pillar of our thriving Performing Arts department. Beyond playing double bass in orchestra, he is a member of CVHS’s state-recognized full Symphony Orchestra, plays sousaphone in our Marching Band, plays bass in the Jazz Cats, and performs in the pit for our school musicals. We are immensely proud of Cam’s hard work, remarkable versatility, and the incredible music he brings to Centreville High School every day. Congratulations, Cam, on this prestigious and well-deserved honor!

Superintendent Community Conversations: Join Superintendent Dr. Michelle Reid for a Community Conversation. Students, families, staff, and community members are invited to ask questions, share concerns, and discuss what matters most to them. Everyone is welcome! Registration is not required, but it helps with planning. Click on the date to register for any of the following events:
Share Your Feedback on Traveling to and From School: The FCPS Office of Safety and Security and Safe Routes to School program are asking families to share their experiences traveling to and from their child’s school. The feedback will help inform the Fairfax County School Board’s annual assessment of traffic and pedestrian safety near schools. The Traffic and Pedestrian Safety Survey asks about walking and biking routes, traffic near schools, kiss-and-ride experiences, accessibility, and other safety concerns. Your feedback will help FCPS identify common issues. Your responses will be kept confidential and shared with school administrators and the Office of Safety and Security. The five-minute survey is open through Thursday, October 15. Be sure to identify the school related to your feedback and include specific locations where you have observed a safety issue. If you have students at different schools in FCPS, please complete a different survey for each school. If you have any questions about the survey, please contact SafeRoutestoSchool@fcps.edu.
Immunization Events for FCPS Students: FCPS, in partnership with Inspire Health Alliance, will be providing school-required immunizations and optional flu shots for all FCPS students, ages 18 and under, with no out-of-pocket costs. Multiple events will take place at designated FCPS locations. Additional dates will be made available throughout the school year. Parents or guardians may view upcoming events and schedule an appointment for their student. Participation is voluntary. Additional immunization resources are available.
