TOP OF THE AGENDA

The midterm races key to Trump's presidency

The midterms are seen as a measure of how happy US voters are with the president's performance so far.

US voters will head to the polls on 3 November to cast ballots in thousands of races taking place across the country, at different levels of government. The most consequential are those involve seats in the House of Representatives and the Senate. Both chambers of Congress are currently controlled by President Donald Trump's Republican Party. Our visual guide takes you through approval ratings, key battlegrounds and the huge amount of money being spent in the elections.
