OSHA to hold online public meeting of Maritime Advisory Committee on Occupational Safety and Health Dec. 3

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration announced today that the Maritime Advisory Committee on Occupational Safety and Health will hold an online public meeting on Dec. 3 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. EST.

After the full committee meets, its Shipyard and Longshoring workgroups will meet online from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. EST.

The meeting will include reports from the Shipyard and Longshoring workgroups, a presentation on OSHA’s National Emphasis Program on Falls and National Stand-Down to Prevent Falls, and a presentation from the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health on emerging technology in the maritime industry.

Send comments and requests to speak to the Federal eRulemaking Portal, Docket Number OSHA-2022-0011, by Nov. 22. Be sure to include the docket number on all submissions. Review the Federal Register notice for submission details.

MACOSH advises the Secretary of Labor in formulating maritime industry standards and matters pertaining to the administration of the Occupational Safety and Health Act related to the maritime industry.
