A letter from our editor:
For as dark as the days have gotten, both figuratively and literally, I am still reaching for the things that give me a sense of lightness. Right now, that’s coffee and morning walks, snuggling my face into sun-warmed rabbit and cat fur, and — of course — soups that make me feel something.
I’m looking for comfort where I can get it, and maybe you are too. But that doesn’t mean it’s easy to find; so, I look for the smallest things instead. I find moments of solace and joy in quick, kind exchanges with my neighbor; in people-watching on my intersection as families head to the park; and, notably, in song recommendations from my favorite bartender (this new Al Green cover of REM, anyone?).
Life is heavy enough as we move into the holidays, so I hope this newsletter edition can bring a little reminder that you are not alone, even when your heartbreak is unique. I see you — we see you — and recognize that we may not be able to understand how you feel. No matter what, we’re sending you hugs if you want them, and wishing you all the warmth in the world.
Warmly, Emily Editorial Director
