Women (buy tickets): Sudbury Women’s Centre is preparing for another holiday season, and is once again calling on the community to support its annual client holiday party. Donors can sponsor a $60 ticket (or a table of eight guests), which provides a meal, entertainment and gifts to a client and their family. Art: IMAGES & MOTS – an exhibit that brings together the works of BRAVO-Nord artists – is running at Place des Arts du Grand Sudbury downtown until Jan. 21. Animals: The Turtle Pond Wildlife Centre launched its first Fill the Pond campaign — an opportunity for community members to virtually adopt local wildlife species and contribute to their care and rehabilitation. From now until the end of the year, all donations made through the campaign will be doubled, thanks to the generous support of Northern Legacy Horse Farm in Whitefish. Arts: The Nouveau Louvre returns to the Galerie du Nouvel-Ontario until Jan. 3. The Nouveau Louvre, a holiday art sale, returns for its 29th year. For this occasion, the gallery walls will be plastered with works by your favourite local and regional artists. Shop in person at the GNO, 27 Larch St. (inside Place des Arts) or online at gn-o.org/en. All works are sold for $225. Profits are shared between the artist ($150) and the GNO ($75).
