Christmas Sneaker Recycling Fundraiser
Dear Mclean High School Community,
Do you have a few pairs of sneakers that no longer need? Here's a wonderful opportunity to recycle them while supporting MHS PTSA at the same time!
Every year, over 200 million pairs of shoes and sneakers are discarded in landfills across the United States. These shoes can take 30 to 40 years to decompose—if they decompose at all. Meanwhile, more than 600 million people around the world lack even a single pair of shoes. This sneaker drive is vital, not only for our local community but also for the global effort to meet the
needs of those less fortunate.
The McLean branch of Aylus (Aylus.org) has partnered with GotSneakers, an organization dedicated to recycling and distributing sneakers to those in need. You can drop off your gently used sneakers in the designated bin located in the front office of McLean High School. For every pair of acceptable sneakers, GotSneakers will compensate us, and all proceeds go to the MHS PTSA!
