Canadore College in Ontario is collaborating with the Maleku community in Costa Rica to preserve their rapidly declining language, Maleku Jaika, using AI technology. With only around 650 community members and limited fluent speakers, the project seeks to empower younger generations and maintain cultural identity.
Bucknell University students and faculty have developed the Bucknell Exam Automated Scheduling Tool to optimize finals scheduling, significantly reducing student scheduling conflicts. The tool, which uses historical data and a user-friendly interface, decreased the number of students with major exam scheduling conflicts from 30% to 11% in one year.
Heartland Community College has recognized more than 40 graduates of the Workforce Equity Initiative, a program that partners with the Illinois Community College Board and the Illinois Legislative Black Caucus to address workforce skills gaps. The program, which offers courses in fields such as electric vehicle technology and nursing, has generated $4.6 million in economic impact for McLean County since 2022.
