| Gifts for everyone on your list | by Jordan Waller, Managing Editor | | | Hi everyone,
It's time for TPG's annual gift guide, and this year, I've asked Managing Editor Jordan Waller to bring you all the top picks from our list. As you all know, I'm a huge fan of Apple AirTags — they aren’t just for your checked luggage. I have them on my keys, stroller, carry-on bags, you name it. You can usually pick them up on sale at Amazon and they make a great stocking stuffer.
I hope everyone has a festive holiday season!
Safe travels,
BK

Christmas is galloping toward us like an ultrafast thoroughbred horse, and if you’re like me, you’re now well into the throes of festive stress as you try to find the perfect gifts for your loved ones.
Luckily, alongside a few other colleagues, I also curate TPG’s annual holiday gift guide. This year, we’ve featured 26 of the best present ideas for travelers, with suggestions ranging from the hottest tech to the best luggage and strollers.
While you can check out our full list of traveler-approved gifts in our guide (and you definitely should), we also wanted to highlight some of our favorite items for you right here.
Best travel tech gear
It goes without saying that we’re huge fans of gadgets at TPG — especially when they make travel easier, more enjoyable or safer.
While more airlines are equipping their planes with Bluetooth connectivity, most aircraft aren’t there yet. Thankfully, there’s an affordable solution in the Avantree Relay premium Bluetooth adapter. With this tiny dongle, you can connect any pair of Bluetooth headphones to your seatback screen.
If you’re looking for a solid set of wireless headphones to accompany it, we recommend checking out Apple’s AirPods Pro.
Another tech device I swear by is the Epicka universal travel adapter, which is compatible with the charging requirements of more than 150 countries and can charge six devices simultaneously.
I also love the Apple iPad, which is my go-to entertainment (and work) device when inflight entertainment doesn’t cut it.
I’d also be remiss not to mention Apple AirTags. These item trackers should be an essential part of any traveler’s everyday gear. You can now share your AirTag's location with the airlines if your bag goes missing. For the Android users among you, we can also vouch for the Tile Mate range of trackers.
Best luggage for travelers
If you’re a frequent flyer we really can’t stress how important it is to invest in a reliable set of luggage. You can’t go wrong with Away’s range of stylish and practical bags. We’re big fans of its Bigger Carry-On for longer, transatlantic trips.
TPG founder Brian Kelly swears by his Rimowa Check-In M luggage for its super-sturdy handles that can make rolling a breeze.
Alternatively, you can’t go wrong with the Winfield 3 DLX hard-sided expandable luggage from Samsonite.
The next item on your list should be a good backpack. For practicality on a business trip, I’m a big fan of the Matein laptop backpack. For something more svelte and trendy, take a look at Dagne Dover’s Dakota backpack.
Best gifts for kids
What do you buy for the tiny globe-trotters in your life?
Traveling moms and dads here at TPG rave about the Stokke JetKids suitcase. It comes in numerous colors and your little ones can also ride on top of it when they get tired.
The lightweight Joolz Aer+ stroller can be a lifesaver and comes recommended by our very own family travel writer Tarah Chieffi.
And if you’re looking for something sure to keep the kids occupied during long flights or road trips, we suggest this LCD writing tablet and doodle board. It's perfect for letting the kids unleash their inner Picasso, and the best part is, it’s mess-free.
Best gifts for AvGeeks
This wouldn’t be a TPG gift guide without something for the aviation fanatics in your life. Senior Reporter Zach Griff recommends Zero Eight Left, a shop filled with art and memorabilia specifically geared toward plane and airport lovers, and sure to make any AvGeek happy on Christmas Day.
Finally, if you want to gift yourself or the traveler in your life the ultimate resource for everything points, miles and travel strategy, you can preorder a signed copy of “How to Win at Travel,” the new book written by our founder Brian Kelly. Signed copies are available for preorder from his local bookstore.
Happy holidays,
Jordan
