Happy Holidays from the TLES Staff
Dear TLES Families,
As 2024 comes to a close, we want to take a moment to reflect on the wonderful memories we've made together this year and express our heartfelt gratitude to all of you. This community has once again demonstrated what makes TLES such a special place: the unwavering support, dedication, and commitment of our families, staff, and PTA.
The past week has been filled with a variety of joyful and enriching events. Our Kindergarten students sparkled with creativity and confidence during the annual Kindergarten Pattern Fashion Show, where they proudly showcased their colorful and unique outfits. It was truly a delight to witness their excitement and joy as they celebrated their work!
Our 2nd graders amazed us with their thoughtful American Indian presentations. Through hard work and collaboration, they demonstrated deep understanding of history and culture, presenting their research with enthusiasm to family and staff members. It was a fantastic learning experience for everyone involved. Our students were so excited to see a variety of special guests show up to enjoy this special event with them!
We also celebrated our students’ writing achievements during our Writing Celebrations - both after school through our Mclean HS Journalism Club and in our 4th grade classrooms. It was inspiring to see our young writers share their research and findings with such pride, while receiving applause and encouragement from their peers and teachers.
Lastly, our Winter Parties were a perfect way to close out the year, filled with fun activities, treats, and holiday cheer. The spirit of joy and togetherness was palpable as our students and staff celebrated the season together.
Behind every one of these successful student events is our dedicated staff who pour so much into supporting your child(ren) each and every day. Every TLES teacher greets each and every child at their classroom door every morning with a smile and a welcoming spirit. Our teachers and staff regularly come to collaboratively plan and discuss students' strengths and areas for growth, ensuring that every child’s learning journey is nurtured and supported. They are committed to continuous professional growth and learning, constantly striving to provide the most rigorous and enriching instruction to help our students reach their fullest potential. We are incredibly fortunate to have such an exceptional team of educators at TLES.
We would also like to extend a special thank you to our TLES PTA and all of our families for their generous donations in support of our Days of Cheer staff appreciation and Spirit Week. Your thoughtfulness in donating gift cards for our staff and sponsoring gifts for others in our community has made such a difference and brought so much warmth to our school. Your kindness is deeply appreciated.
As we head into winter break, we want to express our gratitude to each and every one of you for your continued partnership and support. We are thrilled to continue working together in 2025 to provide the best educational experiences for our students. We hope this winter break brings you joy, relaxation, and treasured moments with family and friends. May you stay healthy, happy, and filled with wonderful memories.
Thank you once again for everything you do for our school. We look forward to seeing you in the new year, ready to continue our journey of growth and success together.
Warmly,
Ben Chiet, Sarah Buchanan & Ashley Vaccaro
