Dr Karl here, and I’m so excited to share with you my brand-new series – How Things Work!
Ever wondered how your favourite everyday items are made? Join me as I explore the inner workings of iconic Australian products - meeting the people behind them and uncovering the secrets that make them tick.
From toilet paper (yes, the stuff we all scrambled for during COVID) to ginger beer, every episode is packed with curiosity, fun, and a whole lot of ‘Aha!’ moments. I even step into a chocolate factory – think Willy Wonka with a lab coat – to discover the sweet science behind Australia’s favourite treats... you may be surprised that many fine chocolates are hand-made!
But it doesn’t stop there. Sports fans, you’ll love seeing how cricket balls are crafted, while lolly lovers get a behind-the-scenes look at jelly snakes (spoiler: red reigns supreme). And in my attempt to understand string cheese, let’s just say my knowledge of String Theory was totally useless!
So, whether you're a science buff, or just curious about what goes into the products we use and love, come along for the ride. It’s all about discovery, and a little bit of scientific magic behind the everyday.
See you on the factory floor!
