Ryan Corbett, an American detained in Afghanistan in 2022, was released by the Taliban, according to his family, in an apparent prisoner exchange.

Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid told NBC News that two U.S. nationals had been released but declined to disclose their identities.
