The Best Hot Sauces For Every Palate, Based On Our Taste Tests
|
With so many hot sauces out there and the stakes of experimenting (your tongue and digestive tract) with new ones so high, you're probably inclined to stick to your old reliable. But what if you could do better? Of course, finding "the best" hot sauce is a bit of a subjective exercise, so we spoke to some experts and assembled a panel of taste-testers to build a list that should cover all palates.
Perhaps it’s a hot take (sorry) that original Cholula—one of the mildest hot sauces on the list—comes in as the best overall, but it was a unanimous crowd-pleaser among the testers, and there’s a reason why you’ll find it in nearly every restaurant’s hot sauce stash.
For more heat, we like Adoboloco’s Kolohe Kid. It tastes like a more complex and slightly smoky Tabasco sauce; it’s similar in consistency and has an addictive tanginess, with the peppers taking center stage versus the vinegar or garlic.
