Dear Wolftrap Families,
As you know, we are expecting some of the coldest weather of the season this week! Please remember, make sure your child is dressed appropriately with a warm coat and other cold-weather clothing, so they can comfortably enjoy time outdoors. We monitor the weather for low temperatures, wind chill advisories and warnings, and weather advisories that may prevent children from being outside for activities like recess or physical education. You can also visit Fairfax County’s website for Winter Weather/Extreme Cold safety tips.
If you need assistance getting cold-weather clothing for your family, please contact our family liaison, Ms. Azita Behdad at Wolftrap. You may also contact Fairfax County Coordinated Services Planning (CSP) at 703-222-0880. Their multilingual staff can assist with any challenges you are facing, including food, shelter, employment, financial assistance, and health care.
We are looking forward to a wonderful week!
Dr. Maggie Grove, Principal
Ms. Megan Tipton, Assistant Principal
We have had such a wonderful visit with our student interns from South Korea! They are working closely with the teachers and students to learn about schools in the United States. They will be here on Wednesday and Thursday of this week. Tuesday, they are visiting Colin Powell, which is the only Korean immersion elementary in FCPS! It has been an honor to host them.

It’s hard to believe we are thinking about our sixth graders moving on to middle school! This year, there will be multiple opportunities for sixth-grade students who are attending Kilmer and their families to learn about middle school course options and make informed course selection decisions. These opportunities begin with two curriculum events:
Virtual Rising 7th Grade General Information Session: Date: Wednesday, January 22, 2025, 5:00 PM Location: Live-streamed on the Kilmer website. The link will be shared closer to the event, and a recording will remain available on our website.
Rising 7th Grade Curriculum Night Open House: Date: Thursday, January 23, 2025, 5:00–7:00 PM Location: Kilmer Middle School
For more information about the course registration timeline and to access the Kilmer Middle School Course Catalog, please visit the Course Registration page on our Kilmer website. If you have any questions about the course registration process or curriculum events, please contact Sarah Groh, Director of Student Services, at sfgroh@fcps.edu.
