On Saturday, January 25, Hands On Harvests (HOH) will host a free seed swap from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the George Mason Regional Library (7001 Little River Turnpike, Annandale, VA 22003). A panel of experienced gardeners will take questions from 11:10 - 11:45 a.m. Panelists include
- Arturo Lopez, community garden manager for Annandale Christian Community for Action
- Casandra Lawson, community farm manager for Arcadia Center for Sustainable Food and Agriculture
- Karen Taylor, support specialist for Fairfax County Public Schools Get2Green
- Tony Makara, master gardener and lead mentor at Woodson High School's garden
- Simon and Karen Bell, master gardeners and mentors at HOH's community garden
Seeds to be exchanged should be labeled legibly with seed type, year and where the seeds came from. Please, no seeds dated before 2022. You are welcome to attend even if you don’t have seeds. Children are welcome but must be supervised.

Virginia Cooperative Extension has an open Family and Consumer Sciences Associate Extension Agent position. The agent plans, delivers and evaluates research based educational programs that are tied to community needs and directed towards families and individuals. This position is housed in the Fairfax County VCE unit office. Review of the applicant pool starts January 27.
