Donald Trump's first full day back in the Oval Office was certainly a busy one. The new US president told reporters he is considering imposing a 10% tariff on China from February, justifying the measure by claiming China was sending fentanyl - an opioid fuelling drug crises around the world - to the US, via Mexico and Canada. He also announced the formation of Stargate, a $500bn US-based artificial intelligence company, and some of the 1,600 people he has pardoned in connection to the 2021 Capitol riots have begun to be released from prison
. Elsewhere, Trump issued guidelines paving the way for immigration raids on churches and schools, and reinstated the "Remain in Mexico" policy that keeps asylum seekers out of the country while applications are processed.
