Here’s the latest on the Los Angeles fires. The worst of the Santa Ana winds is over in Southern California for now, but forecasters say the high risk of fire will persist across Los Angeles and Ventura Counties in the coming days. Bone-dry air, warm temperatures and another round of winds are all in the forecast, as firefighters continue working to contain the deadly Eaton and Palisades fires. The good news is that a cold winter storm is on track to deliver light rain to the region later in the week. The system will bring some relief, but not enough moisture to soak the parched vegetation and significantly lower the wildfire risk, according to the National Weather Service.
