Happ, happ, happy cold day!
Well, furiends, it’s worse than last week. Yesterday when my pawrents wanted me to “go” outside, it was 7°! Can you believe that? I asked mom how would she like to have to do her business in such frigid conditions?!? She made a smart remark about teaching me potty training with a hooman toilet, which sounds like a lot of work, so I dropped my protest. How much longer til Spring Break? - Name: Koa
- Age: 1 year old
-
How he came to be your dog: I was truly blessed to be gifted him as my service dog, thanks to a kind-hearted family that specializes in breeding dogs for service and assistance purposes. Their generosity came at a time when I was facing significant challenges in my life, and having him by my side has provided an immense amount of support and comfort, while greatly enhancing my overall well-being.
-
How he got his name: The name Koa holds profound significance, embodying both his spirit and the vital role he plays in my life. Choosing "Koa," meaning "warrior" or "brave one," felt appropriate as he joined our family during a challenging time marked by medical struggles. He was destined to be a pillar of strength and support for me as I cared for my mother, who is battling late-stage cancer, while also coping with my own challenges from a past traumatic spinal cord injury. Koa's presence offers comfort and companionship, lightening the emotional and physical burden for both me and my mother in this fight against cancer. He has truly become an essential part of our family's journey, epitomizing what it means to be a warrior.
- Favorite food: Bacon-flavored anything -- because who can resist bacon?
- Biggest quirk: His love affair with snow -- every time he goes out, he dives in headfirst and comes back looking like a fluffy snowball with a tail!
- Bad habit: He loves to dig up the acorns left by squirrels, convinced he's uncovering buried treasure, one nut at a time!
