Good morning, DMV. It’s Tuesday, Feb. 4. The pace of life can feel overwhelming, so when I can, I slow everything down. My family had errands to run near home Saturday, so we turned the outing into a long stroll. During our walk, we glimpsed a bird soaring overhead. Probably another a turkey vulture, I thought, turning my gaze back to the ground. Then my daughter said, “It’s a bald eagle!” Indeed it had a white head and tail, though it was so high in the sky, sunlit from behind, we couldn’t see its yellow feet. Eventually it flew off, trailed by a few crows. Minutes later, we glanced up and spotted two bald eagles, gliding together in a wide circle. Again, crows pressed into their airspace, and we lost sight of them all. We’ve lived in our neighborhood about seven years. It’s our second eagle sighting.
